E-mail Print PDF

What is a USPA  "A" skydiving license and what is required to obtain an A license?

What is an A License?

An A license is a student skydiver’s first-step on the road to becoming a licensed skydiver. Individuals with an A license are allowed to jump on their own without supervision, pack their own canopy, and jump with other licensed skydivers.

What Are the A-License Requirements for the USPA?

In order to be eligible for an A license, a student skydiver must have:

a. completed 25 jumps

b. completed all requirements listed on the USPA A License Proficiency Card ( Do you know what is on the A License Proficiency Card? Skydivepedia is in need of this information. Click here to add it.)

c. completed five group freefall skydives involving at least two participants

d. received the signature and official stamp on the USPA A License Proficiency Card or USPA A License Progression Card (ISP)

Where Can I Train for My A License?

You can train for your A license at any USPA dropzone. Because all student jumpers will need to begin with either AFF or Static Line Training; you should seek out a dropzone that offers these training programs in order to begin the training process.
