Before entering the flight chamber for the first time, a safety briefing is usually required. Depending on the type of wind tunnel and its technology, the briefings will vary.

Communication

The flight chamber is very noisy, this is why your instructor will communicate with you using hand signals.
- relax
- chin up
- extend your legs (3-5 inches at a time)
- fix your arms
- arch (pelvis forward)

Freefall body position

Correct body position should be demonstrated during the briefing.

Gearing up

Before gearing up, make sure you remove all your jewelry, empty your pockets and if you don't need your glasses, remove them as well. You will be provided with a jumpsuit, knee pads, elbow pads, earplugs, goggles and a helmet. Your shoes must be tight so you don't loose them. Cameras are not permitted in the flight chamber.
